Howard I. Schechter, President and Chief Executive Officer

Howard Schechter has 20 years experience in high technology companies. Mr. Schechter has extensive experience in managing early stage companies, including product management, and the development of marketing and sales organizations for industry leaders. Prior to ID8 Systems,  he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of PenOp, Ltd. Mr. Schechter was instrumental in orchestrating the acquisition of PenOp by a public company in October 2000.  From October 2000 to March 2002, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Light, Inc.  Strategic Light, Inc. developed tunable filter technology used within fiber optic networks.  Mr. Schechter has also worked for FileNet Corporation, Avant-Garde Computing and 3M.

Gerrit Kamp, PhD, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Gerrit Kamp is co-founder and the lead developer of ID8. He developed the software as part of his PhD research on idea markets. Prior to founding ID8 Systems, Dr. Kamp worked in the Netherlands both as an independent consultant and as a consultant with IBM Business Consulting Services. Before joining IBM, he worked for Airborne Development, an innovation consulting company in the domain of Aerospace Engineering. Dr. Kamp has a Ph.D. Degree in Technology Management from Stevens Institute of Technology, an MS degree in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology, and an MBA from Webster University.

Bob Jackson, VP Sales

Mr. Jackson is a proven senior sales executive with over 20 years of experience in building sales organizations for technology companies.  Before joining ID8 Systems, Bob held management positions at 3M, Wiltel and VAN Guard Technologies. Mr. Jackson has also held senior management positions with emerging growth companies and has extensive experience launching new products and technologies.  He has successfully recruited and developed leading sales teams and designed and implemented sales and marketing programs resulting in new market penetration and revenue growth.  Mr. Jackson graduated for the University of Central Oklahoma with a BS degree in Marketing.

Malcolm Kahn, Chairman of the Board

Malcolm R. Kahn is Vice President for Enterprise Development & Licensing at Stevens Institute of Technology. Mr. Kahn has been a serial entrepreneur of technology-based companies for more than 25 years.
Mr. Kahn began his career at Pfizer in their Medical Diagnostics Division and then at Millipore before moving into start-ups. His past companies include Kratos International plc, Membrex, and Sensicore. He also sits on the boards of several start-up companies. Mr. Kahn has successfully raised considerable venture capital funding for his companies, and he understands the full process of going from idea to delivered product. He holds a BA degree in Finance from The Pennsylvania State University, and an MBA from Fordham University.

Christos Christodoulatos, PhD

Dr. Christodoulatos is Professor & Associate Provost of Academic Entrepreneurship at Stevens Institute of Technology. Over the past four years, he has contributed significantly to new intellectual property development, in the spirit of Stevens' entrepreneurial educational environment, Technogenesis®. He is also a co-founder of, and advisor to, the Stevens Technogenesis spin-out companies HydroGlobe and PlasmaSol.
Dr. Christodoulatos has pursued environmental technology research supported by agencies and industries such as NASA, the US Department of Defense, Brookhaven National Labs, and Exxon Corporation. He holds a doctorate in Environmental Engineering (1991) from Stevens Institute of Technology and a master's degree in Chemical Engineering (1985) from the City College of the City University of New York.

Peter Koen, PhD

Dr. Peter Koen is a co-founder of ID8 Systems and also a tenured Associate Professor in the Wesley J. Howe School of Technology Management at the Stevens Institute of Technology. He is currently the director of the Consortium for Corporate Entrepreneurship (CCE), which he founded in 1998, and whose mission is to significantly increase the number, speed and success probability of highly profitable products and services at the “Front End of Innovation” (www.frontendinnovation.com) – which is the discovery portion of the innovation process.  Current consortium members include Ethicon (a division of Johnson and Johnson), ExxonMobil and P&G.
Dr. Koen has a BS and a MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, both from New York University, and a MS Degree and a PhD Degree in Biomedical Engineering, both from Drexel University. He has over 40 publications in the area of innovation management.
